Originally, Sleipnir is the name of Odin's eight-legged horse, which translates from Old Norsk to "One who glides". This mythological creature is sad to be able to travel both land and sea with ease.

I chose it for this project since it describes what riding a longboard feels like. Cruising the streets, relaxed and almost without any effort. Sleipnir is an interactive micro mobility solution suited for the last mile. By technological enhancing the traditional concept of a longboard, this project provides the rider safety-relevant extensions.

CONNECTABLE
Sleipnir pairs easily with your smartphone via bluetooth. Either automatically – once you
power up the board – or manually, by pressing one button in the Sleipnir-App. Your choice!

SAFE
An RGB-LED Strip makes sure to be seen by others in traffic.

ANTI-THEFT-SYSTEM
It's impossible to steal Sleipnir without making a fuss.
The board is equipped with a 6-Axis-GyroSensor. If you leave your board unattended,
With lights flashing and a roaring alarm sound Sleipnir should scare off any sneaky thief.

SMART
There's a photocell at the bottom that can tell wether it's night or day.
You can make Sleipnir's LEDs light up by themselves.
The GyroSensor detects the horizontal orientation.
Just drop your board on the ground, step on and ride safely.

SUSTAINABLE
Also located at Sleipnir's belly is a flexible solar panel.
If you take a break from cruising or have arrived at your destination, flip the board
on its back and have the sun charging the battery.
